The Commission was also a keen point of interest for Kenyans as they went online to find out available jobs, ahead of next year’s polls.

Fourth on the list of most trending searches was the FA Cup – an annual knockout cup competition in English football as fans went online to find out more about the competition’s match schedule, fixtures and results.

The “What is” category was driven by curious Kenyans, who went online to find out the answers to some of their burning questions.

What is Netflix?’ was the most trending question after the American streaming company announced its presence in Kenya; ‘what is the mountain of butterflies?’ after Google released its first doodle of the year celebrating the mountain of butterflies, a haven for butterflies that was first discovered 41 years ago in the Sierra Madre Mountains of Mexico, by a group of Canadian zoologists.
