Matatu company is hiring ‘hostesses’


A Nairobi-based matatu company is looking for young ladies who will be hired as ‘hostesses’.

Super Metro Limited has announced the vacancies in a notice on its official Facebook page, stating that the suitable candidates should fall within the age bracket of 22 to 27 years.

A notice from the company announcing the vacancies has similarly been shared on social media.

VACANCIES

When Nairobi News sought to verify the information, Mr Nelson Mwangi, who is a manager at the company, confirmed that indeed they are filling up the said vacancies.

“This is something new that we felt like we should try. Our main aim is ensuring that our customers get the best services and also know their rights,” Mwangi told Nairobi News.

Those hired will be required to conduct a number of responsibilities which include greeting customers as they board the vehicles, answering any initial questions, assigning passengers to seats they prefer, engaging and ensuring customers are happy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Other responsibilities include responding to complaints and helping solve them, answering phone calls and providing great customer services.

Among the requirements for the suitable candidates in a college diploma, computer literacy, being conversant in both English and Kiswahili, good communication skills, the company said in the announcement.

Interested candidates have been advised to drop hard copies of their applications and CVs on or before January 31, 2020 at the Super Metro offices.
