Mathare youth reject Gor Semelango’s dollars
Former Youth Fund chairman Gor Semelang’o got a rude shock last weekend when he gave some youths in Mathare US dollars instead of shillings.
The youths refused to take the money thinking it was fake. The flamboyant former Youth Fund boss is seeking a parliamentary seat in the area.
“They told me they could not take dollars because they thought it was a big hassle to change it to Kenya shillings,” Gor tried to explain.
He has been at the Youth Fund for over five years and was recently replaced by music producer Bruce Odhiambo.
