By NYABOGA KIAGE November 23rd, 2018 1 min read

All licensed guns in the country should be returned, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has said.

Speaking when he also disbanded the Firearms Licensing and Control Board, the CS said that the changes should be undertaken with aim of putting up a new body.

“We are in the process of reverting all Firearms in the view of security and safety,” said the CS during a function that was held at IPOA offices.

POLICE SERVICE

The CS asked IPOA to work closely with the police service for the betterment of the public.

He also asked Kenyans to change their attitude in a way that will see Kenyans perform.

The CS was accompanied by Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet.

POLICE KILLINGS

His call comes just a day after Mr Boinnet and the Attorney General, Paul Kihara, were sued over police killings by a group of 22 women.

The women claim that they have lost their husbands and sons who they claim died as a result of extra-judicial killings.

The women then listed IPOA and the Director of Public Prosecution as interested parties in the case.
