Mavoko MP surrenders to police over torching of Syokimau AP camp

Mavoko MP Patrick Makau, who has reportedly been on the run, surrendered himself at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) headquarters on Monday morning.

The MP  is said to have been on the run over alleged connection to the torching of the Syokimau Administration Police camp last week.

Demonstrators, mainly boda boda riders, had set the camp container on fire on Wednesday in protest at the gruesome murders of lawyer Willie Kimani, his client and a taxi driver.

MP Patrick Makau arrived at the DCI headquarters at 8am as per the directive of Inspector-General of Police Joseph Boinnet.

Police said the MP will be charged at Milimani Court later in the morning.
