MCAs reject report absolving Mama Lucy hospital in baby’s death
Nairobi County MCAs have disputed a report by a taskforce set by Governor Evans Kidero to investigate the death of three-month-old baby Dominic Otieno at the Mama Lucy Hospital.
They termed the report, which exonerated the facility over the death, a public relations gimmick.
“This report is just pure PR by the county government. How does a government form a team from inside to investigate itself and lie that they have come up with a report? It was expected that it must be a positive report,” said Deputy Minority Leader Ngaruiya Chege who said he would be seeking a motion to compel the executive to conduct a fresh probe.
However, the assembly’s Health Committee Chairperson Manoah Mboku dismissed the MCA saying they were satisfied with the report.
