Meet King Charles III step children, Tom and Laura


Prior to becoming King, Charles was married to Lady Diana Spencer.

During their tumultuous marriage which weathered scandalous affairs on both their parts, they had two children, Princes William and Harry, the much beloved young men of the United Kingdom’s monarchy.

The two Princes are now grown and married with children.

Prince William married Catherine, Princess of Wales and together, they have three children namely George, Charlotte and Louis while Prince Harry married former American actress Meghan Markle and together, have two children namely Archie and Lilibet Mounbatten-Windsor.

The Princes and their children are the direct heirs to King Charles III but since he married his mistress and she was named Queen, Camilla, born Camilla Rosemary Shand, entered the affair and marriage with two of her own children from her first marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles- Tom and Laura.

Tom Parker Bowles is Camilla’s oldest child, He is a food writer and restaurant critic who authored several cookbooks. He is also a judge on reality cooking shows that air in Britain. Tom is divorced, he was formerly married to fashion editor Sara Buys and together, they had two children- Lola and Freddy. He later remarried but his wife, Alice Procope, died two years later after battling cancer.

Laura is Camilla’s youngest child. She co-founded an art gallery in London and is married to Harry Lopes, a former Calvin Klein model who currently works as an accountant. Together, they have three children, their eldest daughter Eliza and twin boys Gus and Louis.

Despite being King Charles III’s step children, they will hold no entitlement to the crown or get any royal titles unless they are nominated for new titles due to “good works”. They will also neither get any royal security nor royal treatment unlike the legitimate sons of King Charles III and the late Lady Diana Spencer.

King Charles and Queen Camilla are currently in Kenya on a four day state visit.

They have a full itinerary that will see them traverse Nairobi and make a trip down to Mombasa County as well. Among their stops will be meetings at State House, United Nations, several stops in Langata Constituency and a trip to Nairobi’s Eastlands area.
