Mike Sonko reveals more details on the state of Baby Sagini
Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has now revealed details of a medical report that showed that Baby Sagini suffered at the hands of his tormentors.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook account, the embattled political leader said that the minor whose eyes were gouged out in Kisii County was put under medication.
“Ile uchungu na hasira niko nayo mnisamehe sana (The pain and anger I feel over this matter is too much, forgive me) and I ask you to allow me pour my heart on this one,” part of his Facebook post read.

He said that he was hurt by the information he received on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from doctors and the family of the minor on his health.
Mr Sonko said he was working closely with Kitutu Chache North Member of Parliament Japhet Nyakundi and Ms Esnahs Nyaramba, a human rights activist based in Kisii County.
He wondered why people would be very inhuman to young children who he described as “innocent.”

The politician has already said that he would like to fly the minor to South China for an eye implant with the aim of rescuing him.
However, the hospital he found requires that for the child to be taken there, he should have two referrals from hospitals in Kenya.
Mr Sonko promised to hand over a Sh200,000 reward to any member of the public who provides information about the culprits to the police.

Kisii County Governor Simba Arati had already settled the hospital bill accrued when the boy was hospitalised after the incident.
