Millie Odhiambo: I have no regrets for insulting the president

Mbita Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo says she has no apologies to make for the unsavoury comments she made about President Uhuru Kenyatta late last year.

The MP on the converse says the president’s recent comments at different public forums are also  ‘not presidential’.

Speaking during an interview with NTV on Wednesday night, Ms Odhiambo explained that if Kenyans thought that it was wrong for her at the time to verbally attack the president, then it is equally wrong for the president to use abusive language.

NO REGRETS

“If it was wrong for me to use the language I did on the president, then it is worse for him, because to those much is given much is expected. Given what the president is saying I have no regrets,” said Ms Odhiambo.

The combative MP also said she has no apologies for missing out on Wednesday’s State of the Nation address by President Kenyatta in parliament, saying she had better things to do like visiting her hairdresser and keeping an eye on social media.

Ms Odhiambo further said the fight against corruption starts and ends with the head of state and not any other person.

Kenyans on Twitter were however split over Ms Odhiambo’s comments.
