Mombasa celebrates premiere of the movie ‘Michael’ in style

The movie Michael premiered in Mombasa at Nyali Cinemax, during a red carpet event that saw a mix of the who is who on the coast social scene including artistes, musicians, entrepreneurs and media personalities.

Michael is an English movie written by Stephanie Maseki, directed by Clifford Okumu and acted by a coastal crew.

“This is the first coastal movie to premiere at Nyali Cinemax for the last 10 years and I am very excited to be part of this momentous moment,” says Stephanie Maseki actress and director at SekiBa Empire.

CONVERSATIONS ABOUT MEN

The movie revolves around a wealthy man (Michael) who is a typically African, he feels that big sick is a sign of weakness.

He has a sister who needs a kidney transplant, but he hesitates to help. However, it is later discovered that he has a serious illness – prostate cancer.

“We have had a lot of conversations on women and the girl child but not much is discussed about men. It is about time that we held this forum for men because we know that one of the biggest problem men have is their ego’s that prevent them from expressing themselves,” says Ms Maseki.

The movie is scheduled to premiere in Nairobi and Uganda early next year.
