Moment demolition of Ukay Mall nearly turned tragic – VIDEO
The demolition exercise at the Ukay Mall in Westlands nearly turned tragic after heavy debris from the building flew right over an excavator, almost burying it and the operator in the process.
This development caused panic among the curious onlookers and the engineers managing the exercise.
Thankfully, the excavator’s operator emerged from the half rubble moments later covered in dust. No one was injured in the incident.
The moment was captured by Citizen TV cameras.

This incident resulted in the temporary stoppage of the as technicians were spotted repairing the bulldozer.
The demolition which began Friday morning saw the structure which is built on a riparian land started around the packing area.
The Mall estimated to be worth hundreds of millions, is one of several in the capital earmarked for demolition.
