Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria will remain a free man pending the determination of a hate speech case against him, after a court on Monday declined to cancel his bail.
Mr Kuria was charged with incitement to violence and ethnic hatred, but was released on a Sh5 million bail.
The Director of Public Prosecutions had sought to have the bail cancelled after the MP posted a further “inflammatory” message on social media targeting Luos.
However, a magistrate on Monday ruled that the lawmaker had not breached his bail terms to warrant a cancellation.
The hearing of the hate speech case will be on September 9.
