Move over #M7 challenge, we now have #Baba challenge – PHOTOS
An “innocent” photo of opposition leader Raila Odinga talking on phone while resting his left foot on a car tyre has gone viral on social media.
Scores of excited social media users have gone on to imitate this posture, in move now referred to by Kenyans on social media as the “Baba Challenge”.
The development has left Mr Odinga “shocked but excited”, according to Orange Democratic Movement’s communications director Phil Etale.
PR STUNT
“That was an innocent photo shot in Voi on Wednesday, it wasn’t by any chance a PR stunt,” Etale told Nairobi News.
Etale added: “It (the photo) was innocently taken by one of our crew. We didn’t know it would elicit such a reaction, in fact Baba is shocked but very excited by it,”
Social media users – mostly the youth – seem so excited by the “Baba Challenge”.
By Thursday morning, dozens of people had uploaded a photos of themselves on social media with their foot resting on either a vehicle, wheel barrows and bicycle tyres.

This reaction is similar to of social media users at the time Uganda President Yoweri Museveni was pictured having a lengthy phone call on the roadside in July.
