Why MP Bosire is suing senior government officials
Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has sued three senior government officials following the withdrawal of his security detail.
The withdrawal was effected after the March 31 State of the Nation address in Parliament where the MP was singled out for refusing to heed to the call to legislators to stand up in honour of Kenya Defence Forces soldiers killed in Somalia.
Bosire has sued Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery, Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and the Attorney General Prof Githu Muigai.
SECURITY DETAIL
The MP says that he did not stand up because he did not want to appease the public and sweep the plight of Kenyan soldiers in Somalia under the carpet.
He insists that his security detail and that of other parliamentarians comprises Administration Police officers hence the withdrawal is arbitrary.
The legislator wants an order issued stopping the sued parties from interfering with his security detail.
