Mudavadi calls for unity among Nasa leaders

The National Super Alliance (Nasa) co-principal, Musalia Mudavadi, has called for unity among coalition partners ahead of the August 8 general elections.

Mr Mudavadi has also asked all the partners in the coalition to remain focused on the prize which is removing Jubilee Party from power.

“We are in a tent. No matter how hot it becomes we must stay in that tent,” Mr Mudavadi said while speaking in Kisumu where he attended a Sunday service at Redeemed Gospel Church.

Mr Mudavadi was accompanied by Kisumu Governor, Jack Ranguma, Siaya Senator James Orengo, Vihiga MP George Khaniri and Sabatia MP Alfred Agoi.

The Amani National Congress (ANC) leader’s clarion call comes amidst anxiety over the choice of Nasa’s presidential candidate for the polls.

Mr Mudavadi, ODM party leader, Raila Odinga, his counterpart from Wiper Democratic Movement, Kalonzo Musyoka and Ford Kenya party leader, Moses Wetangula are all eyeing the coalition’s presidential ticket.

The four leaders are scheduled to attend a crisis meeting on Tuesday to deliberate on the thorny issue that is threatening to split the coalition.
