Muhoroni Youth fan gets one-year ban

The Kenyan Premier League Independent Disciplinary and Complaints Committee (IDCC) has banned renowned Muhoroni Youth fan George ‘Jojo’ Odhiambo for one year for leading crowd trouble in Muhoroni’s home match against Western Stima late last month.

This is on top of a Sh 324,000 fine slapped on the club for the same offence. At the same time, IDCC has ordered KPL’s Security and Safety Committee to visit and review the suitability of the Muhoroni venue in line with concerns raised and table a report by June 22.

“The Committee further orders a ban of Mr. George Odhiambo Onyango AKA Jojo from all KPL matches for a period of one (1) year effective from the date of this decision. Muhoroni Youth F.C. shall co-operate with KPL, and other clubs or security teams to ensure adherence to this order. In the event of any breach thereof, any affected person or persons is at liberty to refer to this committee for review and/or further orders.”

CROWD TROUBLE

The club has also been ordered to pay Sh124,000 to Stima for the loss of property belonging to officials plus a Sh 200,000 fine for crowd trouble during the match that the home side won by a solitary goal.

“Muhoroni Youth F.C. failed to control its fans and/or supporters during the KPL Match No. 67 (2015), who as a result assaulted some officials of the Western Stima F.C. and damaged and appropriated their property,” IDCC said in its ruling.

“We order Muhoroni Youth F.C. to pay damages to Western Stima F.C. for the damaged and/or lost property belonging to its officials in the sum of Sh 124,000 within fourteen (14) days from the date of this decision.”

“It is further ordered that Muhoroni Youth F.C. shall pay a fine of Sh 200,000 within fourteen (14) days from the date of this decision.”
