Mum kills her one month-old twins in Eastlands
A single mother was arrested on Thursday morning after she killed her one-month-old twins in Uhuru estate in Eastlands.
Police say the 26 year-old woman committed the heinous act by using a kitchen knife to slit the throats of her newborn boys.
Buruburu police DCIO Jeremiah Ikao told Nairobi News that they suspect the woman was suffering from postnatal depression.
The condition is a form of depression that many new mothers experience after having a baby.
“The woman was showing signs of depression after giving birth according to the neighbours,” said Mr Ikao.
The woman is being held at Jogoo Road Police Station and will be arraigned in court on Friday.
The bodies of the newborn boys were taken to City Mortuary.
