Museveni ships in ‘personal toilet’ for use in Nairobi during Ruto’s inauguration

President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda shipped his personal mobile toilet from Kampala for use during his visit to Kenya for the inauguration of President William Ruto in Nairobi.

President Museveni is among foreign dignitaries who are in Nairobi for Dr Ruto’s inauguration.

He reportedly made the 45-minute flight from Kampala to Nairobi, aboard a chartered Uganda Airlines plane.

Kenyans from all walks of life jammed the 60,000-capacity stadium with some streaming in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.

Outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta handed power to his former deputy at 12:45pm.

This is not the first time the Ugandan head of state has shipped personal things while visiting Kenya.

Dr Ruto received a symbolic sword that he will hold as the sitting president and other instruments of power.

In June, President Museveni arrived in Nairobi in his personal car to attend an East African Community heads of state meeting which had been convened by President Kenyatta to discuss the security situation in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

At the time, it was rumoured that the 77-year-old president was cautious of contracting Covid-19 considering his advanced age.

President Museveni came to power in 1986 and is the among the longest serving presidents in Africa.
