Kenyan rapper Stephen Otieno alias Stevo Simple Boy has lost his father.

The sad news was shared by his management Men In Business (MIB).

“Death announcement of Anthony Adera, Stivo Simple Boy’s father. It is with the saddest regret and sorrow that we announce the death the father of Stevo Simple Boy,” part of a statement shared by the management read.

The management did not share the cause of death or burial plans.

Simple Boy’s career took a turn to the best after veteran musician Kennedy Ombima alias King Kaka offered to record his first song.

Some of the songs he has recorded since he kicked off his music career include; Freshi Barida, Wedding day, Mihadarati, Heshimu ndoa.

He was born and raised in Oyugis, Homabay County in a family of eight before moving to Nairobi and settled in Kibra, the second largest slum in Africa.

The 32-year-old has been in the music industry since 2007 but started recording in 2015.

In early 2022, the musician parted ways with his old management which is based in Kibra and started working with MIB.

Three weeks ago, he failed to perform at an event in Mombasa which was graces by musician Ruger.

The event took place on December 28, 2022.

Later his management told the media that he was not treated well and the organisers of the event forced him to share a bed with two ladies.

The organisers maintained that despite them raising concerns on what transpired the organisers never listened to them.

The management of the musician accused self-proclaimed President of Comedy in Africa Eric Omondi of being behind the woes he faced.

They even accused the comedian of trying to drag the musician to the stage and forcefully have him perform to those who attended the function.

Later, Mr Omondi responded saying the management was mishandling the rapper.
