Mutua rolls out red carpet, full guard of honour for visiting governor – VIDEO

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua rolled out the red carpet and mounted a full guard of honour for his visiting counterpart from Kericho county, Paul Chepkwony.

The event was fashioned alongside those staged for visiting heads of state as Prof Chepkwony even inspected the guard of honour mounted by council askaris.

In one of the pictures, an askari is shown – like in the presidential events – asking for permission from the visiting governor to inspect the guard.

The brief ceremony was broadcast live on Dr Mutua’s Facebook page. Prof Chepkwony is in Machakos for a 3-day visit.

The decision to mount a guard of honour, however, got mixed reactions.

“Together with him, I will inspect and launch several development projects. The two counties are exploring areas of mutual interest such as agriculture and trade so as to empower our people,” said Dr Mutua.
