My net worth is Sh544 million, says Kithure Kindiki

Cabinet nominee for Interior and National Administration Kithure Kindiki says he is worth about Sh544 million.

Appearing before the Parliamentary Committee of Appointments for vetting on Tuesday, Prof Kindiki said that his sources of income include law practice, businesses, and consultancy.

“My Net worth is Sh544 million. At the moment, I am an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, and I practice law.

I am also a business person running several SMEs, and I am also a consultant for local and international organisations,” he told the committee chaired by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula.

He explained that the Sh544million is made up of land and buildings that are worth around Sh165 million and bank deposits of about Sh50 million, investments in shares, and deposits at five different Saccos.

“I have practiced law for 22 years, I have never been involved in any professional misconduct,” he said.

He denied that he fought hard to be President William Ruto’s running mate.

“It is not true that I fought hard to be a running mate. There was no shock because it was a privilege to be on that shortlist and to be a runner-up. I have no problem working under deputy president Rigathi Gachagua and President William Ruto,” he added.
