Nadia Mukami opens up on struggling with weight, how her body has changed
Kenyan singer Nadia Mukami took to Instagram on October 17, 2022, to reveal how she has struggled with weight issues since giving birth to her son, Haseeb Kai.
As is common with a majority of pregnancies, Nadia put on weight too but revealed she could not immediately get down to managing it because of her mommy duties and her workload.
“I am trying to get back to 60 kilograms. Its sooo hard losing weight! Don’t get it twisted. I love the new thick me, exclusive of mummy pouch, double chin, and my wrestling build-like arms.

“I struggled with my weight. I even didn’t post a lot of photos and I had so much of client work because I was soo insecure. But now it’s Nadia time! I have been trying to keep fit because of the performances!
Let’s say adjusting was soooooo hard for me!! But there are no shortcuts!! I have to work on being fit! Let’s go!” Nadia captioned an Instagram video of her working out in the gym.
She also revealed that she once went on a diet and her weight ballooned from 65 kilos to 67 as she interacted with her followers, who encouraged her in the weight loss journey.

In a past Instagram question and answer session, Mukami revealed that raising her newborn required her to eat well in order to be able to produce milk to nurse him adequately to his fill.
“I had never been heavier than 55Kgs, but now I am 63kgs because I am breastfeeding exclusively, so I have to eat a lot every now and then.
It is a sacrifice because I don’t want to lack milk. Breastfeeding is work. It’s not as easy as it seems. Actually, you gain more weight during breastfeeding than during pregnancy,” said Nadia.

In another past interview, she revealed that she had begun going to the gym after giving birth but had to stop as she still suffered pain from her delivery.
“I’ve once gone to the gym and my wound started becoming painful so I had to put a pause and then you’ll find people saying, ‘Oh, you’ve put on weight’ but I know I’m not putting pressure on myself because I have a wound.
So I am doing simple exercises, like walking or if I’m in the gym, I am just doing the treadmill only. There’s no need to give myself pressure then I go back in for another surgery,” revealed the songstress.
