Nairobi among Africa’s top visitors’ choice
Nairobi and Mombasa have been ranked with two other Kenyan towns as Africa’s top 25 destinations according to an American travel website.
The pair, Watamu and Diani beach were voted by millions of reviewers and travellers from around the globe, said TripAdvisor.
Last week, the website released winners of 2015 travellers choice awards based on opinions collected in a single year from visitors all over the world.
Branded safari capital of Africa with fascinating wildlife and nightlife, Nairobi was voted ninth out of 25 while Watamu, which came in 10th, was voted overwhelmingly for being an ideal spot “for a swim and tanning session.”
Mombasa’s luring beach front hotels received numerous reviews from travellers in search of “sun, sand and surf” while Diani received comments for its sparkling white sands and lush greenery that invites tourists to beach umbrellas.
Three coastal beaches, Watamu, Nyali and Diani were ranked ninth, 22 and 24 respectively.
“TripAdvisor’s community of millions of travellers has helped us highlight some of the very best hotels and destinations from around the world,” TripAdvisor chief marketing officer Barbara Messing said.
