Nairobi couple wins all-expense paid Sh10 million wedding package – VIDEO
A Nairobi couple are the winners of an all-expense paid wedding and honeymoon package of up to Sh10 million, courtesy of Maisha Magic East and Sarova Hotels, Resort and Game Lodges.
Daniel Makau and his fiancée Beatrice Muthoni beat 13 other couples to win the top prize. The two impressed a panel of judges who comprised of the most sought after wedding planners in the country.
The 14 couples, who were shortlisted for the competition, will feature in the reality show, Our Perfect Wedding, which is set to premiere on Thursday,November 3, 2016, at 8 pm on Maisha Magic East (DStv Channel 158 and GOtv Channel 4).
The 27 year old Makau and his 21 year old fiancée told Nairobi News that it was a blessing from God that they won.
“We met last year in January at Redeemed Gospel Church in Mihango and when we heard there was a competition, I gave my fiancé a promise ring to signify that I will keep all the promises I have made to her from today henceforth. Now we have two less things to worry about as we wait for our perfect wedding,” a beaming Mutua said.
The Our Perfect Wedding show will follow 14 Kenyan couples through their love story and wedding planning process.

“Unlike other wedding shows this will be different because it will bring forth all the spectacle that comes with getting the perfect dress, the perfect venue and perfect cake and not forgetting the dramatic in-laws and the traditional ceremonies that have to be concluded before the bride can walk down the aisle,” said Stephen Isaboke Multi Choice Regional Director.
Kenya has been chosen as the next best home for Our Perfect Wedding. The show has been broadcast in two countries in Southern Africa where it has pulled and received outstanding on-air and online following and audience ratings.
“The exciting thing about Our Perfect Wedding is that it is a truly Kenyan wedding experience. All the 14 couples are Kenyan, and are planning for their big day, hoping to get the perfect wedding. The show demonstrates Maisha Magic East’s commitment to provide premium local content on our platforms,” said Head of Channel for Maisha Magic East, Margaret Mathore.
The winners were chosen by a consortium of four leading wedding companies included Fatema Bhaiji from Aura Event Planners, Christopher Kirwa from Cate Chris Limited, Dorothy Kimweli from House of Dotty and Chemtai Chamia and Alex Chamia from Bloomingdale Event Planners.
All the five couples who were shortlisted for the grand prize also get an all-expense paid honeymoon package courtesy of Sarova Hotels, Resort and Game Lodges.
