Who will clinch Jubilee Party tickets in Nairobi?
Wednesday will see the long awaited Jubilee Party primaries in Nairobi kick off. The nominations for the ruling coalition, which have been postponed thrice, will see some of the most bruising battles fought for party tickets for the August 8 general election.
The most eagerly awaited showdown is the one pitting Senator Mike Sonko against former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth who will be battling in the gubernatorial race.
The Woman Representative contest is also expected to be a fierce one with seven aspirants on the ballot.
In the forefront will be city lawyer Karen Nyamu and Millicent Omanga who are both seeking to unseat incumbent Rachael Shebesh.
Starehe Constituency will also the incumbent Maina Kamanda battling it out with celebrated musician Charles ‘Jaguar’ Kanyi and Francis Mwangi while in Embakasi West, incumbent MP George Theuri will face aspiring politician Mureithi Mwenje.
