Nairobi lawyer who led ouster of anti-graft bosses found dead – VIDEO

A Nairobi-based lawyer who filed the petition that removed Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission bosses from office was found dead Wednesday morning in a swimming pool at a Mombasa hotel.

Geoffrey Oriaro’s body was found by a pool attendant at the Bamburi Sea Front Chalets at 4.30am.

A member of the lawyer’s family, who did not want to be named due to the sensitivity of the matter, said the body was at the Pandya Memorial Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.

Mr Oriaro filed the petition that led to the ouster of Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) chairman Mumo Matemu and his deputy, Irene Keino.

He had argued that the two were incapable of leading the war on corruption.
