Police who followed his body to the Mater Hospital say that blood was oozing from his ears and mouth.

Cases of workers dying while they are at construction sites have been on the increase in the recent past with authorities saying that most do not wear protective gear.

On Sunday, September 24, 2023, another worker who was working on the fifth floor of a house that is still under construction died in Lucky Summer Area.

Mr John Kakuta was among workers at the site when he slid and fell to the ground with police and witnesses saying that he suffered serious head and rib injuries.

He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead On arrival.

Police say they are investigating the incident with the aim of knowing if there were safety measures that had been put in place for the workers.

“The building had reached the seventh floor at the time of the incident and there were more than ten other workers at the site,” police said.

Workers at the scene were briefly questioned as part of the probe into the incident.

In Kenya, most workers die in such conditions and little is done to compensate or take action on issues of negligence on the part of the contractors.
