Nairobi News report John Muchiri was on Friday night the victim of a robbery that ended in the shooting down of a suspected gangster whom the Police said they have been pursuing for long.

The incident occurred at about 6:45 pm on Friday evening, when Muchiri, was driving towards the Westlands roundabout.

While in a traffic jam just past the Consolata Shrine approaching the Westlands roundabout, a man snatched his phone through the car window and run across towards the popular Galileo Club

But he encountered two uniformed police officers from Kileleshwa Police Station who were within the vicinity of the incident.

SHOT DOWN

What he didn’t know was that some two plain clothes officers had seen him commit the robbery and were trailing him.

When the robber changed course and ran towards Westlands, the two plain clothes officers got a chance to him intercept. It is at that point that he drew a gun but was shot down by the officers by the road side.

The whole incident took less than five minutes and moments later seven other plain clothes and unformed police officers arrived at the scene of the shooting.

Parklands OCS Paul Rioba described the robber as a criminal they have been pursuing for long.

“He is part of a gang that has been robbing motorists while in traffic,” Rioba said.

Muchiri’s Samsung Note 3 phone and bundle of cash was recovered from the slain robber’s pocket.
