Nairobi to set up shop to woo investors

Nairobi county government will soon set up a one-stop shop for investors.

The initiative, currently being reviewed by the cabinet, will be modeled along the lines of the Huduma centre,

It will act as the county’s point for registering investors and will house the county’s senior officials.

The one-stop shop is meant to slash down the time spent by investors to register in the county.

According to Moses Ikiara, the Managing Director of Kenya Investment Authority, Nairobi County is currently hosts an average of two to three investment conferences a week.

Mr Ikiara urged the County’s government to hasten the development of its master plan which will ease packaging of opportunities to investors.

“When an investors shows interest of making a major investment and there is no designated master plan by the County government, it becomes hard to tap such opportunities,” said Ikiara.

The period between January and March witnessed the lowest interest by investors,  but momentum picked up between April and June.

The period between July and September had low registration but highest interests by investors.
