Cases of lovers harming or killing each other have been on the rise across the country in recent weeks.

On Monday, a man was rescued by police after discovering the lifeless body of his wife lying in a pool of blood after being stabbed to death allegedly by a man purported to be her boyfriend following a domestic row.

Bridget Ochieng who was a teacher in Kisumu was found in her house at Oboch Market in Nyakach Sub-County.

The teacher was 33 years old. Police are already investigating what could have led to the killing of the teacher.

The motive for the alleged crime remains unclear, although neighbours report the couple frequently fought before the tragedy.

Meanwhile, in Nairobi, police are investigating two separate murder incidents involving women following suspected domestic fights.

Detectives handling the incidents said they are unrelated and the killers are known.

The first incident occurred when a 24-year-old woman died in hospital after a domestic dispute with a man who residents said was her boyfriend in Nairobi’s Githurai 44.

Police identified the woman as Grace Wangari, adding that the incident happened on the night of Saturday, January 20.

Neighbours said they heard screams from where the woman was staying with her boyfriend and rushed to help her.

The neighbours alerted police who rushed to the scene and rescued the woman, who was taken to a local clinic with head injuries.

She was later transferred to Kiambu Level Five Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said she was bleeding profusely when she was rescued and taken to the hospital.

The man was arrested at the scene and detained at Kasarani police cells on murder charges.

Elsewhere, a 40-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her husband during a domestic dispute in Nairobi’s Kiambiu slums.
