Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina toasts to 1 million Twitter followers

Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has thanked his online fans for their love and support after attaining one million followers on Twitter a day before his birthday.

“It’s my birthday eve! The best ever gift. 1 million strong. Thank you,” he wrote on the social media platform.

The politician, 47, is known for his traditional dress code and outspoken nature.

He is a staunch supporter of seasoned politician Raila Odinga and is remembered for being at the centre of the commotion at Bomas of Kenya moments before the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision (IEBC) announced William Ruto as President-elect.

He also hogged media headlines in 2020 when he was arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on hate speech claims but released without charge.

Ole Kina was re-elected Narok Senator on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket in the August 2022 polls.

He joins an exclusive club of politicians with more than one million followers.

They include President William Ruto, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, seasoned politician Raila Odinga, former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko, and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.

He is known as a controversial leader and uses his social media s platform to critic president William Ruto’s government
