Nasa supporters accuse IG of double standards on Raila welcome party
Nasa supporters have accused IG Joseph Boinnet of double standards for refusing them permission to receive Raila Odinga inside the JKIA.
The supporters say it was a different case when Jubilee supporters were allowed to receive President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2014 when arrived back in the country from attending a status conference hearing on his case at the International Criminal Court (ICC) yet he was received by a grand reception at JKIA.
Nasa supporters told the IG off after he said they would be blocked from accessing JKIA on Friday.
The supporters wondered why they were being blocked from accessing the airport yet Uhuru was received by a massive crowd that included traditional dancers who turned out to welcome him from The Hague.
GET A GLIMPSE
At the time, Presidential security detail had a difficult time controlling the huge crowds who were blocking his motorcade in an attempt to get a glimpse of the president and his entourage.
The crowds chanted and danced proclaiming it was “prayers and not witchcraft” which has seen the President overcome the Hague challenge.
Mr Odinga, who has been on a trip to the US and Europe, returns to what Nasa says would be a “grand reception” complete with an airport party, and preceded by a rally at Kamukunji grounds on Friday.
Soon after Mr Boinnet issued the orders, self-declared National Resistance Movement General Miguna Miguna led many supporters by taking to social media to ask them to turn up in large numbers to welcome Mr Odinga.

Interesting how @UKenyatta was welcomed from ICC by dancers donning traditional regalia and chanting native rhythms? All the way from the rural areas. Has #JKIA changed rules because its @RailaOdinga

Raila Odinga’s family members number over 12 million, being 70% of voting population in Kenya. Why should 1 million out these not welcome him at JKIA?

@NPSOfficial_KE The police have no right to restrict our freedoms of movement, assembly and expression. JKIA is a public facility and any citizen is free to visit anytime.

Each of the 1 Million people will arrive at JKIA as an individual Kenyan with rights of accessing the Airport, not as a risk-posing "crowd"

The moment you try to gag NASA supporters, you make even those who had no plans of showing up to come and see the really situation. Boinet you can bring armored tanks to JKIA on Friday.
