Ndovu ni Kuu producer receives YouTube Plaque

Musician Krispah, born Christopher Thande Githara, has received his YouTube Silver Plaque after hitting 100K YouTube subscriber milestone.

Krispah who also is a musician, shared the exciting news on his socials where he posted a video of himself holding the award while thanking his loyal fans.

“God bless y’all. Time for that new music. That New Direction,” wrote the artist.

Commonly known as Ndovu Kuu, a name the producer curated out of his love for elephants, Krispah came into the limelight and fast gained recognition in the music industry after his hit song ‘Ndovu ni Kuu’ featuring Boutross Munene and Khaligraph Jones rocked the Kenyan airwaves.

The song became a club banger that was being streamed across many listening and video streaming platforms.

‘Ndovu ni Kuu’ was published on May 22, 2021, and has currently garnered over 9.8M views on YouTube.

There were hiccups though, as the hit temporarily pulled down from YouTube on grounds of copyright infringement.

This is after Dexta Briyanka, who is a rising artist in the Kenyan music industry, successfully filed the infringement case against the trio and coupled it with defamation claims linked to Kenyatta University.

However, a week later, the music video was restored on YouTube, with the help of his legal team. The rapper took the news to his social media pages to let his fans know that the song had been reinstated and that the claims made were false.
