‘Ni God!’ Babu Owino’s statement after acquittal in DJ Evolve shooting
Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) now says that he was acquitted in a case where he was charged in relation to the shooting of Mr Felix Orinda alias DJ Evolve was all the will of God.
In a video shared on his official Facebook account, Mr Owino, who is serving his second term as MP, also thanked members of his family and friends for standing with him since January 2020 when the shooting incident took place.
In a ruling issued by Magistrate Bernard Ochoi, the political leader was acquitted due to lack of evidence.
“I want to thank my wife and family members for the great support they accorded me during this trial. I also want to thank DJ Evolve, Felix Odhiambo Orida, for being my friend, trusting in our friendship and always being there for me,” said Mr Owino.
He said that the Judgement took place in a manner in which even God in heaven would have wanted it to go.

According to Mr Owino who is a member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party he will rejoice the day he will see DJ Evolve walking and even standing beside him.
“I am planning to take him to India for further checkup and I am praying to God to grant Felix both the physical and spiritual strength to ensure he walks in the near future,” he said.
In June 2022, DJ Evolve testified virtually from his bed and told the court that he did not see Mr Owino carrying a firearm during the shooting incident.
The entertainer further said that he did not know what happened to him as he only found himself inside an ambulance.
Then, he realised that he had been shot and injured by a bullet, but he was not sure who shot him.
