Nigerian singer Davido celebrates President-elect Ruto’s Supreme Court victory
Celebrated Nigerian megastar David Adedeji alias Davido has celebrated Dr. William Samoei Ruto on his victory as the fifth president of the Republic of Kenya.
The singer-songwriter who also holds American citizenship, said in his congratulatory speech that Ruto’s victory was a win for democracy in Kenya.
“Congratulations to Dr William Samoei Ruto, on being declared 5th President of the Republic of #Kenya.🇰🇪 @WilliamsRuto … also Congratulations to the people of Kenya ! DEMOCRACY WINS AGAIN.” Said Davido.
His tweet was liked by over 33,000 fans and retweeted about 6,500 times. Below are some responses from his fans:

29-year-old Davido is one of the biggest artistes out of West Africa and is renowned for his major hits including Fall, If, Aye, Jowo and Champion Sound.
He is also the son of Adedeji Adeleke, a Nigerian billionaire tycoon estimated to be worth over Sh70 billion.
Adeleke is also the younger brother to Osun State Governor Isiaka Adeleke.
The Supreme Court of Kenya upheld William Ruto’s victory in the August 9, 2022 General Election.
He emerged winner with 7,176,141 votes to Azimio La Umoja- One Kenya Alliance’s Raila Amollo Odinga’s 6,942,930 votes.
Raila disputed the results and headed to the courts.
Following the Supreme Court ruling, team Azimio stated they accepted the outcome but rejected the judges’ decision making processes.
Dr. Ruto is set to be sworn in to office on 13 September, 2022- almost a month after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission declared him the president elect.
