Nigerian’s Young Jonn set for Kenyan tour after album collabo with Ya Levis and Sean Paul
Following the success of hit singles like “Aquafina” and “Go Hard,” Chocolate City’s recording artist and producer Young Jonn is set to release his highly-anticipated debut album, Jiggy Forever.
Alongside the album release, Young Jonn will embark on his first tour of East Africa, aiming to foster collaborations between the Afrobeats genre and top talents from the region.
Jiggy Forever, consisting of 16 tracks, promises to take listeners on an emotional and sonic journey.
The album features notable collaborations, including a track with Jamaican rapper Sean Paul titled “Hold On,” which explores themes of love and longing set against the backdrop of the Caribbean Islands.
Nigerian artist Zlatan joins Young Jonn on tracks like “50 Million” and “Full My Tank,” celebrating financial success in Lagos.
Additionally, Don Jazzy and French-based Congolese sensation Ya Levis feature on the album, with the latter contributing to the stylistic romance-themed track “Maya Maya.”
The album also includes the amapiano-themed love anthem “Aquafina,” which has amassed 30 million streams and one million views on YouTube, and “Sharpally,” which has garnered over 30 million streams since its release.
The confidence anthem “Big Big Things” features Seyi Vibes and Kizz Daniel, adding to the album’s diverse and rich soundscape.
“This album is really special to me. I feel like most people don’t really know who I am. They just have an idea,” Young Jonn said. “But this project uncovers the real me. Each track is like a snapshot of life’s roller coaster, touching on love, hustle, and finding my way in a world that sometimes feels upside down.”
Young Jonn’s transition from producer to music artist began in 2021 after signing with Nigeria’s Chocolate City Music.
He released his first project, Love Is Not Enough Vol. 1, which received critical acclaim and included a remix of his single “Dada” with Davido. This was followed by Love Is Not Enough Vol. 2.
Jiggy Forever is expected to be Young Jonn’s best work yet.
