Night guard on the run after raping and robbing employer

Police officers in Ruiru have launched a manhunt for a night guard who raped and robbed his employer on Saturday night in Kahawa Sukari estate.

According to the police, the man only identified as Kelvin, raped and robbed his 45-year-old employer after duping her to serve him with a glass of drinking water.

According to the victim, her night watchman turned violent and and threatened her with a kitchen knife after she gave him a glass of water.

After raping her, the watchman drove off in his employer’s Toyota Vitz (registration number KBV 681N) having also stolen Sh23,000, a TV set, a gas cylinder, a mobile phone and an ATM card.

The victim is currently admitted at Nairobi Women Hospital for treatment.


In another incident, a police officer was on Saturday night arrested after he assaulted and injured his two colleagues as they tried to arrest the owner of a club along Duruma lane.

The injured police officers had gone to the club to arrest the owner of the establishment for breaching the Alcoholic Drink Act by selling alcohol after business hours.

During the scuffle, the owner of the club managed to escape but one of the officers suffered a cut above the right eye, a clean cut above the right leg and a broken tooth while his colleague sustained bruises on the face.

It is only after the injured officers called for reinforcement that their assailant was subdued and arrested.
