No more cash payments at City Hall – Sonko

Cash flow within City Hall will be fully automated to seal loopholes of theft, Governor Mike Sonko has said.

The reforms will see the abolishing of the cash office within City Hall.

“Nobody will be allowed to pay cash to acquire any service. I also intend to increase annual revenue from 15.5 billion annually to 30 billion. My Government will also ensure proper streamlined decentralisation of services to ensure this is achieved,” said Mr Sonko on Sunday at a church service.

Last week, the governor nabbed millions of shillings stashed in the cash office that had not been banked.

“Staff salary delays will be a thing of the past. More revenue collected will lead to timely payment of Staff salaries.

“Nairobians elected me to ensure this changes and I am intent on keeping my promise,” he added.
