Ntimama, Waweru Mburu top Google searches in September

Veteran radio presenter Waweru Mburu was the most searched personality on Google in the month of September, followed by former cabinet minister William Ole Ntimama.

Waweru Mburu of Radio Citizen died on September 28 at MP Shah Hospital while undergoing treatment for gastric cancer.

Third on the list of most searched persons was South African ‘Kwaito’ artist Mandoza – known to family and friends as Mduduzi Tshabalala – who died on September 18 at the age of 38 while undergoing treatment for a brain tumor.

CHIEF JUSTICE

Nominated Chief Justice, David Maraga came in fourth after the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) announced on September 22 he was the best among eleven candidates shortlisted for the Chief Justice position.

On the “How to” category, Kenyans went to the search engine to  know how to cook fish. This was especially after billionaire and owner of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg visited Kenya and was photographed enjoying a plate of deep fried Tilapia fish and Ugali.

Surprisingly “How to gain weight fast” was number two, as the public went online to find out the various ways one can employ to gain weight fast.

The report also revealed that Kenyan men were at a dilemma in flattering a lady, making the “How to Praise a lady” search number three. They also searched for “How to attract a lady”.

On the “What is” category, many Kenyans seemed concerned about their health and especially constipation.

‘KIMOJI’

“What is constipation” was the most trending question in the category. Reality TV star Kim Kardashian came second as people searched for “What is Kimoji”.

Kimoji is a mobile app launched by the star that features a series of Kim’s images as emoticons.

Other health issues that Kenyans sought information on  was “what is liver cirrhosis”, a disease that replaces healthy liver tissues with scar tissue, eventually preventing the liver from functioning properly, and one of its main cause is a lot of alcohol consumption.

Other trending ‘What is’ searches were: ‘What is the cure for heartburn?’, ‘What is parsley called in swahili?’, ‘What is the meaning of ‘bae’?’, ‘What is the normal blood pressure?’, ‘What is Eid al-Adha?’, ‘What is emphysema?’ and ‘What is gambling?’
