NTSA employs awkward punitive measure to shame traffic offenders


The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has taken to shaming anyone caught breaking traffic rules by forcing them to carry a placard by the roadside as a deterrent measure to other would be offenders.

A photo of one such offender which has been widely circulated on social media shows a man in a reflective jacket holding the placard bearing NTSA’s logo,

The message on the placard reads, “Kindly observe lane discipline, don’t be like me” with offenders reportedly forced to walk up and down warning other motorists.

The development comes in the midst of reports that NTSA is grappling with reports of fake road accidents in the Coast region that has prompted the authority’s regional coordinator Ismail Farah to request the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to investigate and arrest the perpetrators.
