NTV’s Larry Madowo summoned to DCI over Ndii interview – VIDEO

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations wants NTV’s Larry Madowo to record a statement over his August interview with economist and Nasa strategist David Ndii.

Larry shared a letter to the Nation Media Group that required the company to avail him for recording of the statement to assist with the investigations.

He added that the company would give its position on the matter during the Tuesday news bulletin on NTV.

THE LETTER

In the DCI letter, the company had been asked to avail Larry for statement recording.

Ndii was arrested by seven police officers from the Flying Squad and the Special Crimes Prevention Unit, at the Coast on Sunday evening.

He was taken to Diani Police Station and later driven to Nairobi where he was interrogated at the DCI for close to nine hours.

BARRED NASA SUPPORTERS

During the interrogations police officers barred Nasa supporters and lawyers from accessing the DCI premises.

Later, however, lawyer James Orengo and Edwin Sifuna were allowed to see Dr Ndii.

On Monday evening, Dr Ndii was released on a Sh10, 000 police bond after the Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko ordered the DCI to release him on bond.

Mr Tobiko asked the police to complete their investigations, and forward the inquiry file to him ‘for appropriate directions’.

After the order, the police drove Dr Ndii out of the Milimani Law Court to the Muthaiga Police Station then to the DCI where he was released.
