Nyota Ndogo: Did you want to see me naked?
Award-winning Kenyan songbird Nyota Ndogo is furious at those rebuking her for posting a picture of herself holding a gun on social media.
The Mombasa-based singer posted the photo late last year, during the ‘My Dress My Choice’ protest against stripping of women by men.
Speaking to Nairobi News from Denmark, where she is on holiday with her Danish boyfriend Henning Neilsen, the musician said people are just looking for fame by re-posting the picture.
“I don’t understand why the picture has resurfaced online,” she said.
“Am I the first person to post a picture online while holding a gun? Celebrities have posted worse things online. Did they want me to pose naked for them to keep them talking? I am very angry with these people who just want to use my name to get fame.”
Asked if the gun belonged to her and if she has a license, she said: “I’m very much aware of what the law says, so I can’t be that stupid.”
Nyota has been in Denmark for almost a month now, where she went to visit her boyfriend’s home.
