ODM MP claims Jakoyo Midiwo a Jubilee mole in Cord

Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi has sensationally accused his Gem counterpart Jakoyo Midiwo of being a mole of Jubilee coalition.

Mr Wandayi said Mr Midiwo has been using Siaya governor Cornel Rasanga’s alleged non-performance to fight ODM leader Raila Odinga.

“It will not be business as usual. Mr Midiwo is not with us. We only see him at day time but at night he works with Jubilee,” Mr Wandayi said at a press conference on Monday in Kisumu.

Mr Wandayi is also ODM’s secretary of political Affairs.

Mr Midiwo was not available when reached for comment. Calls and messages to his phone were unanswered.

NEAR-FIGHT

The two MPs nearly fought at a fundraiser in Simero Secondary School on Friday over claims of governor’s Rasanga’s non-performance.

At the Friday event, Mr Midiwo blamed Mr Wandayi of being part of the team responsible for Mr Odinga’s loss in the 2013 general elections.

On Monday, Mr Wandayi said the Gem MP was not honest in his support for Mr Odinga. He claimed Mr Midiwo worked more for Jubilee.

“Mr Midiwo is not working in the best interest of Raila. At day time he supports Raila’s course, but his actions are to the contrary,” the legislator said.

The MP pointed at the ongoing wrangles between governor Rasanga and MPs from Siaya county, which he said have been orchestrated by Mr Midiwo in preparation for his bid for the Senate seat in 2017.

JUBILEE SYMPATHISER

“These wars are co-ordinated by Mr Midiwo and will only play against Mr Odinga’s 2017 presidential ambition. We urge ODM governors not to take such baits dangled by Jubilee sympathisers,” he said.

He said Mr Midiwo’s criticism against governor Rasanga is aimed at derailing Raila’s course.

“MCAs are allowed by the constitution to oversight the county government, while MPs are supposed to oversight the National Government. In Siaya it is unfortunate that some people have deviated from their roles and are now piling more pressure to the Governor with ulterior motives,” Mr Wandayi said.

He added; “Whereas I do not support corruption, There are proper channels to follow to deal with corrupt leaders. Furthermore Siaya is an ODM government and if Jakoyo means well for our party leader Raila then he need to change tact and handle his corruption allegations in a sober manner.”
