Officer who deserted duty arrested in police crackdown

A General Service Unit (GSU) officer who deserted duty and went into hiding  has been arrested in Kayole.

Constable Wycliffe Odiwuor Amolo was among the 47 suspects who were arrested within Kirima and Buruburu farm in Kayole during a security operation.

Kayole OCPD Ali Nuno said that the officer will be charged in court for deserting duty.

At least three officers, including an officer who was attached at the JKIA Police station, have been charged in court for deserting duty in the last two months.

BURGLARY

In another incident, police have launched investigations after unknown people broke into a house in Kileleshwa and stole a gun, Sh5.3 million and assorted household goods.

Ms Shaheel Afzal, a resident of Royal Residence along Rhapta road said that she went for shopping on Sunday at around noon but when she came back at around 3.30pm, she found her house broken into and a Heckler and Koch gun, Sh4.65 million and US $6,900 among other items stolen.
