One of the three missing children found dead

One body of the three missing children whose parents died in a span of 48 hours in a tragedy that has left relatives baffled has been found near Tatu city in Ruiru.

After a whole day of searching on Monday by a team comprising of the relatives and police, the body of a little girl was found in a bushy area badly decomposed with a deep cut on the back of the head.

BODY VERIFIED

Their paternal uncle, Andrew Muhiu told Nairobi News on Monday evening that after an hour of trying to confirm the identity of the body they verified it was that of five-year-old Tiffany Muthoni.

“We will continue with the search around the same area on Tuesday morning because it has become too dark,” said Mr Muhiu.

The body of the girl was taken to Bishop Okoye Funeral Home in Thika.

The three children were last seen on Tuesday in the company of their late father Paul Magu whose body was found on Wednesday on the Nairobi- Garissa Road, apparently knocked down by a vehicle.

His wife, Ms Lydia Wangui, had earlier been found dead and with a deep cut at the back of the head, after going missing from the family home in Kenya Pipeline Estate on Sunday.

RECLUSE

On Sunday, Mr Magu, described by neighbours as a recluse, did not look sad but wanted to register his neighbour as the custodian of the children and even asked the neighbour — who requested anonymity — for his ID number to be given to a lawyer.

After asking the house help to prepare children and going out with them on Tuesday, he was said to have spent the night at his father’s home in Thika then hit by a bus long the Garissa highway with his car parked on the roadside.

Detectives who visited the home on Friday collected a suicide note supposedly written by Mr Magu.

It stated, “I cannot live in ridicule and embarrassment resulting from poverty. Let it Be.”

There was a lot of blood on the couple’s bed with clear signs of a struggle and at a corner near the kitchen back door, ash was spread on the ground.
