OpenAI CEO Sam Altman marries software engineer Oliver Mulherin

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has officially married Oliver Mulherin, a software engineer, in what seems to be an intimate ceremony.

Contrary to speculation, wedding photos circulating on social media were confirmed to be genuine by an anonymous source who attended the celebration and spoke to the Business Insider.

The photos, believed to be screenshots from Altman’s private Instagram, showcase the couple in white button-down shirts and orchid boutonnieres under a bamboo chuppah in a tropical setting.

Jack Altman, Sam’s brother, and Lattice’s co-founder, officiated the ceremony, capturing moments like the ring exchange and the breaking of the glass, a Jewish wedding tradition.

While the location and date remain undisclosed, it appears to have been a small gathering, with approximately a dozen people in attendance.

Altman’s relationship with Mulherin has been relatively private, but they made a public appearance last year at a White House dinner.

Mulherin, known as “Ollie” to Altman, has a background in computer science, having worked at Meta for two years and studied at the University of Melbourne.

Both Altman and Mulherin share a mutual interest in AI, with Mulherin contributing to AI projects during his time at the University of Melbourne.

In a recent interview with New York Magazine, Altman revealed the couple’s desire to start a family soon.

Despite the private nature of their relationship, the wedding marks a significant milestone for Altman and Mulherin as they embark on this new chapter together.
