Oppo launches A Series 2020 phones targeting youth

Smartphone manufacturer Oppo officially has launched its new A Series 2020 mobile phones in Nairobi, during an elaborate ceremony held at Kenyatta International Convention Center.

The A Series 2020 includes the A9 2020 and A5 2020 devices which are targeting the mid-level smartphone market with a special focus on the youth.

Oppo is teasing the series as having high quality performance, longer lasting battery, superb photography and better gaming experience and especially targeted at the Generation Z.

“This new name also reflects our vision for the coming ten years. It highlights the brand’s latest technologies, stunning design, superb photography, powerful performance and perfect tuning to the needs of young people,” said Oppo Kenya Communication and PR Manager Muthoni Wachira.

The Oppo A5 2020 and A9 2020 both boast of a Quad Camera, which includes a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP mono lens and a 2MP portrait lens.

The A9 2020 also has a 16MP selfie camera and the A5 2020 an 8MP one, and both use the AI Beautification technology which allows the user to improve and smoothen their selfie appearance.

The main cameras support Ultra Night Mode 2.0 allowing the user to take better photos in low light, this highlighting the growing competition in the photography arena by smartphone manufacturers.

According to Muthoni, the new devices also have an improved stabilization technology and as well as a 5,000mAh Ultra Battery that last longer and will come in handy for avid mobile phone gamers.

The pre-order window for the A 2020 Series opened on October 18 and closes on October 25, 2019.
