Origi to replace injured Harry Kane?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a move for Liverpool striker with Kenyan roots Divock Origi as a replacement to injured Harry Kane.

Kane picked an injury last weekend during an English Premier League match defeat against Manchester United at Wembley stadium.

And with Kane expected to be out until March, coach Mauricio Pochettino wants to fill the void by signing the 23 year-old who is deemed surplus at Liverpool.

According to British newspaper The Telegraph, Pochettino has 50 million pound to spend on a potential replacement and Origi fits the bill.

Tottenham currently have strikers Fernando llorente and Vincent Janssen who have reportedly failed to impress Pochettino,  who is now said to be seeking an upgrade in the January window to provide competition when Kane returns to action.

Origi, who joined Liverpool in 2014 from French side Lille, has 18 months left on his existing contract and the Reds may be forced to offload him if he stalls on singing a new deal due to lack of enough playing time.

Origi, the son to former Harambee Stars skipper Mike Okoth, has fallen on Liverpool’s coach Jurgen Klopp pecking order with Daniel Sturridge now viewed as the automatic backup to first choice striker Roberto Firmino.
