Oscar Sudi threatens to name leaders behind the burning of his Timba XO club

Kapseret Member of Parliament Mr Oscar Sudi has announced that he has a dossier of how some of the leaders from Rift Valley region planned the destruction of business premises during the anti-Finance Bill protests.

The MP’s Timba XO club was among the business premises that were raided, looted, and destroyed during the recent protests.

Speaking in an event on Friday in Kesses Constituency, Mr Sudi said he will name and shame those who plotted the raid on the club.

“I will name and shame leaders who infiltrated the peaceful protests by our valuable Gen Z and reigned mayhem. These are the leaders who made dark plans and collaborated with goons to destroy people’s property, and its high time they are unmasked,” Sudi said.

He claimed that those who infiltrated the demonstrations wanted to overthrow the government.

Top entertainment joint

“Without a doubt, the infiltrators of the protests were attempting a coup to oust President William Ruto from office,” he said.

According to the MP, the initial protest organized by the youth was meaningful, which also saw his daughter taking part, until the goons infiltrated the exercise.

“I have children who are Gen Zs, and I’m still wondering if one is protesting against the Finance Bill, why would they go and torch someone’s property.”

The recently opened Timba XO in Eldoret suffered the wrath of a mob that looted, and destroyed goods worth millions of shillings.

Top Bongo artistes Diamond Platinumz and Zuchu graced the colourful opening of the club, which has since been a top entertainment joint in the area.

After last week’s incident, the MP announced that he would take a break from the public and regretted what happened to the country.

Display of opulence

“I have never done something to hurt someone. My work has always been to help those who are in need… We know those who were leading the attack. Let me suspend everything ahead until further notice,” he said.

According to Sudi, some of his political detractors took advantage of protest and used the youth to cause chaos.

“You all know who were leading them. That was not the action of our children. We know the capacity of our children,” he said.

The MP is among the leaders in President Ruto’s inner circle who were recently criticized for their unrestrained display of opulence in public.

He is also one of the MPs from the Rift Valley who were quick to tell off Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for claiming that some youthful MPs were lacking manners in trying to tell him what to do.
