Parents association lobbies for George Magoha as Education CS
The National Parents Association (NPA) has urged President-elect William Ruto to retain George Magoha as Education Cabinet Secretary (CS).
Speaking to Nairobi News on phone, NPA chairman Nicholas Maiyo offered that Magoha was the best bet to steer reforms in the Education ministry.
Maiyo further lauded the combative CS for his commitment to the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and other reforms in the ministry.
“We know that it is the mandate of the new government to appoint the Education CS and we pray for a smooth transition. If it is possible for the CS Magoha to continue working for some time, we have no problem,” said Maiyo.
“He is hands-on and acts on issues raised immediately. He is a reliable administrator.”
Maiyo’s remarks come days after Magoha opened up on the possibility of working under the President-elect.
“I’m not looking for a job but if in his wisdom the President-elect decides that I continue, (then) I am ready to have that conversation because I have connected with Kenyan children,” he explained.
President-elect William Ruto is expected to unveil his cabinet days after his inauguration.
